11/6/09	Major project 1 is due on 11/6. Then they switch into the last project which will be due early December.
11/3/09	We are working on finishing project 1, due on 11-6. That same day the students switch into their last groups. Those will be due early December
10/7/09	We are now working on part II of the class where your student is either writing short fiction, a screenplay, essays, or a personal narrative. This will take us into November.
8/14/09	Welcome to creative writing. For 6 weeks we will be writing poetry, this will culminate with a quick performance poem and then we will discuss publishing.

11/3/09	We had a very successful week of motivational speeches. Now we will be working on the classification essay due 11-20. On 11-6, the students will be assigned the portfolio project which they can work on periodically at home for a month. It is due in early December.
10/7/09	This is a busy month. The process paper is due 10-9, the mid-term is due 10-19, then we have a week of motivational speeches they have to write and perform the last week of October. After that we start addressing the classification essay.
8/11/06	Our first paper will be a descriptive narrative essay. Don't forget Turnitin.com. Due 9-18-09 ALSO, make sure all RIO paperwork is complete ASAP or your student will be removed from enrollment.

11/3/09	We are now working on another reading strategy: relating / connecting to the text. After, we will discuss the power of symbols. Please encourage students to submit work yet to be turned in.
10/7/09	We are working on visualizing as a reading strategy...at the end of OCtober the focus will be on relating. Please remind students to keep up with their notebooks (40 questions , 20 vocab words) due first week of November.
8/24/07	The first week we will be pre-testing. After that we will work on the skills of predicting and summarizing. Students will need a novel to bring ASAP (by 8-24-09 for credit).
